Introduction Southwestern State College (SWSC) of Nepal – promoted by a team of Academicians, Researchers, Planners, and Professionals at national and international levels – aims to provide quality education in Science, Management, and Humanities streams for undergraduate and graduate levels in Nepal which is equivalent to international standards. Being proud of our own quality products and achievements, we are, now, in collaboration with foreign universities. SWSC is ISO 9001:2008 QMS certified reputed organization. We are proud of our Academic and Vocational certificates’ high value in national and international market.  At present, the College has run PhD program in Multi-discipline affiliated to Mewar University, Master in Arts (M.A) in English, Master of Business Studies (MBS), Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) and Bachelor in Arts (BA) courses affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU), Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) affiliated to Purbanchal University (PU), and +2 programs in Science, Management and Humanities in affiliation with Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB). It has also run A-Level Program affiliated on Cambridge University UK. The promoters from different professions of life and with years of excellence experiences in academic field are managing the College. SWSC hopes to play a vital role of bridging the gap between the national and international education system.  Since its inception, it has been promoting the prospectus of qualitative and practical education as well as imparting a value based education. Its major aim is to develop socially responsive, creative, and result oriented pupils in order to meet global challenges.  SWSC, located ideally in proximity to Ring Road, turns out to be a quiet study area, reflecting to welcoming positive and secure academic center. It has covered up 38,332 sq. ft. areas. We have very friendly, supportive and stimulating college ambiance. It places considerable emphasis on giving the students’ valuable learning experiences and providing great opportunities to ensure excellence and success in their academic pursuit. We fully integrate the different activities such as Writing Resource Centre, the Information Commons, and Educational Technology Services with curricular and co-curricular learning. We have a well-equipped and spacious library to where the graduates and undergraduates can pursue their insatiable thirst for learning. In other words, we are secured in effective settings for the students’ learning environment.

Location and Physical Facilities

The College is located at Basundhara (close to Ring Road), Kathmandu. College premises have covered more than seven Ropanies of land with about 38,332, sq. ft. physical infrastructures with spacious greenery park and international standard basketball court.

Academic Facilities

SWSC places great importance on the continuous improvement of its facilities for students both educational and social. It has one to one (student: computer) computer facilities with round clock internet access. The College has well-equipped library facilities with textbooks, research journals, academic materials and resources. It has also excellent separate laboratories for Science, Computer Science and Hotel Management.

Students’ Amenities

SWSC has managed to open bank accounts to each student and thus to provide student loan for their further study. The college also has a wide range of scholarship and assistantship scheme for the deserving students. All students will receive a health insurance scheme. In addition to these, students will be encouraged to complete and submit their assignments through online. Moreover, the college has a system of providing students’ profile on the online system so that parents can see their ward’s performance records on it.

Similarly, the college has a pick up and drop services for students from any corner of the Kathmandu Valley by the college vehicles. We also provide separate hostels for boys and girls with reading facilities, good care, well discipline handled by experienced resource persons and staff. The hostel has a very spacious greenery view hygienic foods and snacks with self service.

Extracurricular Activities

SWSC organizes a wide range of recreational activities such as basketball, volleyball, football, table tennis, and badminton. Moreover, the college sponsors many extracurricular programs including inter and intra college competition especially in quiz context, poem, essay writing and debate which aim at enhancing students’ learning calibre at SWSC .The main aim is to inculcate a feeling of shared responsibilities whereby students can learn the importance of teamwork and a keen meaning of sharing.
